Switchgear Fitter

Our client, based in the North Manchester area, require a Switchgear Low Voltage Fitter/Panel Builder.The role is mainly workshop based and will pay up to 45,000 per annum.You will be involved in all aspects of Switchgear assembly, wiring and testing. DUTIES: Build and assemble LV switchgear following engineering drawings and busbar layouts. Fit and secure electrical components such isolators, changeover switches, metering devices, surge protection devices and busbar systems. Install and torque busbars, copper work, and interconnections to specified torque values and manufacturer standards Carry out mechanical assembly including mounting plates, backplates, cable trunking, and enclosure frameworks. REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience building LV switchgear, power distribution assemblies, or electrical distribution boards. Good understanding of LV electrical distribution components and protective devices. Ability to interpret single line diagrams, wiring schematics and busbar drawings. Competent in handling and torquing busbars, cable terminations and power assemblies. Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation / Electrical Engineering (or relevant apprenticeship).
