Your new companyYou will be joining a specialist engineering contractor delivering high-voltage infrastructure solutions across the UK. The business supports critical power projects across sectors including utilities, rail and private electrical networks, providing installation and engineering services for essential electrical infrastructure.Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Switchgear Fitter to join their North West operation. Your new roleAs a Switchgear Fitter, you will work primarily from a North West-based workshop, assembling, fitting and wiring switchgear and associated electrical equipment.The role will involve mechanical assembly, busbar fabrication and panel wiring, alongside occasional UK travel to support site installation, modification and retrofit works on electrical systems up to 11kV.Your responsibilities will include: Building and assembling switchgear, mechanical enclosures, circuit breakers and component layouts from engineering drawings Measuring, cutting, bending and fitting copper busbars Wiring low-voltage control panels and secondary protection circuits Completing cable routing, crimping and electrical terminations Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, assembly layouts and electrical schematics Using torque wrenches, hand tools and busbar fabrication equipment Supporting occasional site installations, modifications and retrofits on systems up to 11kV Ensuring all work is completed to the required engineering, ..... full job details .....
