The London Irish Centre''s mission is to empower and enrich lives through Irish community and culture. Since 1955, we have served the Irish community in London, providing crucial support, connection and a ''home from home'' to those living in the capital. The Survivors Integrated Service (SIS) is a unique service supporting former residents and survivors of Irish institutions; Mother and Baby and County Homes, Industrial Schools, Magdalene Laundries and other Reformatory institutions. Many survivors are older and elderly whose experiences of residential and institutional abuse continue to impact their lives. The SIS is committed to delivering a professional, responsive and individualised service, placing lived experience at the heart of everything we do. Using holistic, person centred and trauma informed approaches, we support survivors across London and the South of England. The service provides emotional and practical support, advocacy, information and signposting, and facilitated access to counselling and other specialist services. Additionally, the service creates opportunities for social connection, cultural engagement and community building. Our aim is to achieve the best possible outcomes for survivors, enabling individuals to navigate life''s challenges within a safe and supportive environment.
