We are looking to strengthen our operational team with the appointment of an experienced Surfacing Manager.As Surfacing Manager, you will take responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of tar/asphalt surfacing operations. This hands-on role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to manage people, plant, and performance in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day surfacing operations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of projectsPlan resources including labour, plant, materials, and subcontractorsLiaise with clients, site teams, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationshipsEnsure all works are carried out to company quality standards and in compliance with specificationsMonitor and manage costs, productivity, and programme deliveryEnsure health and safety procedures are followed at all times on siteLead and supervise site teams, promoting a culture of safety and accountabilityConduct site inspections and audits, resolving any technical or operational issuesReport progress and project updates to senior management

Key Skills and Experience

Proven experience in a similar surfacing management role within the asphalt/tar surfacing industryStrong knowledge of road surfacing techniques, materials, plant, and equipmentExcellent organisational and leadership skillsGood understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulationsStrong communication and client-facing skillsProficient in reading technical drawings and specificationsFull UK driving licence (essential)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:00, with occasional overtime and weekend work as required to meet business needs.
