About the Role
The Support Worker, Veterans - Complex Needs role based in Honiton involves managing a caseload of 5–8 customers across Honiton and Exeter. This full-time, temporary assignment runs until October 2026 and offers £15.34 per hour for 30 hours weekly, Monday–Friday with one Saturday every six weeks. You will deliver person-centred support to veterans and individuals facing or at risk of homelessness. Key responsibilities include helping customers with complex needs progress toward independent living. Successful applicants demonstrate compassion and proactive problem-solving skills. This position requires a focused approach to rebuilding lives within a structured team environment.

We're looking for a compassionate and proactive Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting veterans and individuals who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness.

What you'll be doing:
- Managing a small caseload of 5–8 customers, allowing you to provide high-quality, person-centred support.
- Developing, reviewing and updating support plans and risk assessments.
- Supporting people with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse and housing-related issues.
- Working closely with external agencies, landlords, healthcare professionals and support services.
- Promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every individual you support.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safeguarding and risk management processes.
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Confidence managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- Knowledge of housing-related support and safeguarding practices (desirable).
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (desirable).
