Support Worker
We are looking for kind, reliable, and engaging Support Worker''s to spend afternoons each week, to support a young person with additional learning needs. The main focus of this role is to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment after school. You will help to build confidence, develop independence, and engage in activities while providing a bit of respite for family. Key Responsibilities Engagement and Activities: Planning and sharing in fun, age-appropriate activities (e.g., arts and crafts, reading, baking, playing in the garden, or short outings to the local park). Routine and Life Skills: Supporting with afternoon routines, such as preparing a light snack and encouraging simple independence skills. Well-being: Providing attentive, patient, and compassionate care tailored to unique learning needs. What We Are Looking For Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with learning difficulties or additional needs is highly desirable. Qualities: You should be naturally patient, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and a great communicator. Reliability: Consistency is incredibly important to help build a strong, trusting relationship. Requirements: A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and excellent references are essential. A clean driving license with business insurance is a plus but not mandatory.
