Support Worker
Job Description: Support Worker (Complex Needs) Role OverviewSupport Worker required to provide person-centred care and support to service users with learning disabilities (LD), autism, and mental health needs, including complex needs and challenging behaviour. This is a temporary, ad-hoc role with shifts paid at 13 per hour. Key Responsibilities Support service users with personal care, including: - Washing, dressing, toileting - Support with dignity, consent, and choice Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support approaches. Support daily living and community engagement in line with care plans. Assist with: - Medication administration (where trained and authorised) - Food hygiene and food preparation - Dysphagia support needs (e.g., safe swallowing strategies as required) - Diabetes awareness (recognise and respond to care needs, follow plans) - Epilepsy awareness (understand seizure plans and escalation procedures) Carry out moving and handling safely and confidently, in line with training and risk assessments. Promote independence and well-being while maintaining safety at all times. Essential Requirements At least 12 months of UK care experience. Experience supporting people with: - LD, autism, and mental health needs - Complex needs and/or challenging behaviour Ability to support personal care, including intimate care.
