Support Worker Location: Newcastle NE6 Pay Rate: £14.01 per hour Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent, Full time Shifts Available: Days Sleep-In Female Only - Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Part 1) Who ll you be supporting We re looking for an experienced female support worker to assist a young lady in her mid 20 s with autism to achieve her goals and independence in her own supported living bungalow. Caroline has autism and benefits from structure and routine in her daily life. She enjoys watching films, TV shows, arts and crafts and buying stationary. Caroline enjoys getting her nails done, eating out and visiting attractions throughout the North East. She loves shopping and visiting the city centre daily. Caroline is close to her family and likes to spend time with them regularly to maintain a strong relationship. What you ll be doing? You ll be helping Caroline to engage in the community, with home-based activities and learn life skills to help her to develop independence. Support will include: prompting of personal care and provide support if required medication administration budgeting cooking cleaning laundry Experience needed Caroline can experience complex behaviours of distress, this can be through verbal and physical aggression, previous experience supporting people with autism and complex behaviours is therefore essential.
