About the Role
A Support Worker is required in Honiton to join a team supporting veterans and individuals facing homelessness or its risk. Pertemps is currently recruiting for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our client on a temporary basis until the end of October 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting veterans and individuals who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless across the Honiton and Exeter area.
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you'll manage a small caseload of around 5–8 customers, allowing you the time to deliver personalised, high-quality support that empowers individuals to achieve greater independence.
The RoleAs a Support Worker, you will:
- Provide person-centred, solution-focused support to individuals with complex needs.
- Develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
- Work closely with external agencies, including mental health services, substance misuse teams, benefits services, landlords and education providers.
- Support customers to access housing, employment, training and other community services.
- Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every individual.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding best practice.
- Experience supporting individuals with a range of complex or vulnerable needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make informed decisions.
- Experience writing records, support plans or action plans.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience within housing support or homelessness services.
- Knowledge of benefits, employment or education support.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Previous experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Safeguarding qualifications.
- 30 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday in every six
- Temporary contract until the end of October 2026
- Enhanced DBS required
- Based from Honiton with travel across Honiton and Exeter
