Support Worker

Are you looking for a career in care, or already have experience but want to develop further? We have a Support Worker vacancy where you will be required to work 28 hours over 7 days on a shift rota basis. Ideally, you should have a Health and Social Care background and have experience of working with people with complex learning disabilites. You will be expected to create environments where the people we support can develop interests, skills, and relationships to enable them to live fulfilling lives in their local community. The job is hard work but extremely rewarding. Responsibilities/day to day duties: Work with our people to create a friendly and happy environment Provide physical and emotional support Understand the individual needs and offer guidance Encourage and help develop skills Assist with medical and welfare needs Provide personal care if required Attend reviews to discuss health and well being Accompany individuals on outings Liaise with relatives and staff members Maintain a safe and clean place to live Requirements: Willing to undertake SVQ qualification and attend all training Able to show compassion, dignity and respect Understand and consider the needs of others Must be a good listener Be an excellent communicator written and oral Experience of working with people with complex learning disabilities would be an advantage however not essential, as we offer excellent Induction and on-going training for all staff Ideally have SVQ level 2 in Health and ..... full job details .....
