Support Worker

Would you like to gain experience or increase your existing knowledge and practice of working with adults with a learning disability and mental health needs? We are seeking a highly motivated Support Worker to join our small, friendly team in the beautiful conservation area of Stanwix, Carlisle. You will be based at one of our 24-hour supported living services, where you will provide care and support for 7 adults, each living in a fully furnished one-bedroom flat. Our project is conveniently located with easy access via public transport. The ideal candidate will have a positive outlook and enthusiasm, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals to participate in a range of activities. You should also be aware of the challenges that the people we support face on a daily basis, and have an understanding of how care is delivered in a Supported Living setting. A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. Your role will include: Providing positive support to residents, enabling them to take part in community activities.Following and developing personalised support plans that help tenants build domestic, financial, and emotional management skills, promoting confidence and greater independence.Building warm and trusting relationships with tenantsCommunicate and collaborate with statutory bodies, voluntary agencies and advocates/family members.
