Support Worker - Young People Leaving Care Location: Weston-super-Mare (Single-Occupancy Flats) Temporary Role, £12.50 per hour + sleep in Flexible Hours Agency: Brook Street Social Care. Help Young People Take Their First Steps to Independence We''re recruiting passionate Support Workers to guide young people (16+) as they transition out of care and into independent living. You''ll be supporting them in their own flats, helping build confidence, life skills, and a sense of self-sufficiency. What You''ll Be Doing Prompting with daily tasks: cooking, cleaning, laundry, filling in forms Encouraging independence and routine Supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience Promoting safe medication habits (where needed) Handling verbal challenges and emotional behaviours with care Lone working-but always part of a supportive team What You''ll Need ? 1+ year experience supporting young people ? Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People ? DBS on the Update Service (preferred) ? Energy, compassion, and a "can do" attitude ? Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills ? No sponsorship available About the Service This is a highly person-centred service supporting care leavers as they prepare for full independence. The team is caring, committed, and dedicated to helping each young person thrive. Most placements last 6-12 months, with the goal of moving into unsupported tenancies. Ready to Apply?
