We are seeking an experienced Residential Children''s Worker who is passionate about making a positive difference. This is a hands-on role where you''ll support young people to achieve positive outcomes while working within a supportive and experienced team.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality day-to-day care, support and guidance to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Meet the emotional, physical, educational, social and behavioural needs of each child.
  • Act as a positive role model and promote appropriate behaviour.
  • Support young people to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
  • Follow individual care plans and contribute to reviews and planning.
  • Encourage engagement in education, employment, training and recreational activities.
  • Support young people to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.

Key Worker Responsibilities

Take responsibility for allocated young people and support them in achieving their individual goals.

Provide one-to-one emotional support and guidance.

Advocate for young people and encourage them to participate in decisions affecting their lives.

Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Promote positive relationships and community involvement.

Team Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.

Attend team meetings, handovers and mandatory training.

Share information appropriately to ensure continuity of care.

Promote consistency in the delivery of care and support plans.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential setting is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
