About the School

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington, near Archway, that is looking to appoint a confident and proactive Support Teacher. The school has a strong focus on providing targeted support to pupils and maintaining a positive learning environment across the school.

Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive the support they need to make strong academic progress while also developing confidence and independence in the classroom.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding teaching role combining targeted intervention work with class cover responsibilities. In the mornings, the successful candidate will deliver intervention groups for Year 3 pupils, focusing on raising attainment in core subjects. In the afternoons, the role will involve providing class cover across the school as required.

The school is looking for a teacher who is confident managing behaviour, able to build strong relationships with pupils, and comfortable supporting children with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering targeted intervention groups for Year 3 pupils in the mornings
• Supporting pupils to close learning gaps in core subjects
• Providing class cover across the school in the afternoons
• Maintaining strong classroom and behaviour management
• Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEN
• Working closely with teachers and senior leaders to support pupil progress
• Creating a positive and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally KS2
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
• Confidence delivering interventions and adapting learning for different abilities
• A flexible and proactive approach to teaching and classroom support
