Supply Chain & Logistics Consultant - Contract or Permanent

OverviewOur client is a leading distributor of mixed products to thousands of Retail Stores across the UK. The business is in the early stages of transformation with an opportunity to distribute more existing products and new products, which has the potential to double their revenue.

In response to a bid with an existing client that they expect to be successful with, they are looking for a Supply Chain and Logistics Consultant to assist them.

Role and Responsibilities

Understand the client’s business and the end client requirements, then work with partners to review existing Supply Chain and Logistics processes, optimise and set up to scale.

Design change in warehouse facilities and review/invest in high-end tech solutions for sortation, bar codes, etc.

Assist in extricating one product type from an existing customer’s warehouse to transfer to partner warehouses for distribution.

Assist with automating and scaling the supply chain and logistics solution to support growth and potential distribution of other products for new and existing clients.

Locations and Working ArrangementsThe role will be based in Cambridgeshire twice per week (client base) plus one day a week in each of Hemel Hempstead and Coventry where the warehouses and external partners are located. The role is being considered as a Day Rate contract and an ongoing permanent position due to prospective work.

Experience and Qualifications

Extensive experience within Supply Chain and Logistics consulting on optimising processes and procedures end-to-end.

Designing and setting up efficient warehousing and transport for product distribution (mixed products ideal).

Good knowledge of tech solutions to assist with this, such as Warehouse Management Solutions, sorting, etc.

Experience in Supply Chain for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG); the person and their overall experience are more important than the products being distributed.

Dynamic, numerate, commercial, innovative and consultative.

Strong Project Management capability and Change Management.

Cambridgeshire/Midlands based to be in the office 2 days a week and at Warehouse facilities 2 days a week.
