Substance Misuse Nurse based in HMP High Down Must have experience within Substance Misuse Prison will consider putting through vetting Role responsibilities To provide high-quality clinical assessment and treatment to substance dependant prisoners, working in partnership with HM Prison Service and all other stakeholders. You will ensure the delivery and monitoring of high standards of nursing care and relevant substance misuse interventions to all Service Users in accordance with the standards set out in the NMC Code of Conduct. As a Band 6 Nurse, you will demonstrate leadership and undertake managerial responsibilities if required, delivering clinical supervision to junior staff and deputising for the Lead Nurse when required. You will provide high standards of nursing care through on-going clinical assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment for drug and alcohol users. Working with a high degree of autonomy and professional accountability to safely deliver healthcare, managing high risk areas and conduct risk assessments and attending clinical meetings, including clinical governance, groups and committees, and quality meetings. Promote the health and well-being of patients, supporting their often complex needs to maintain their optimum level of physical and psychological health and the delivery of prescribed medication following patient assessment.
