Sub Agent – Civil Engineering

Location: East London 
Start Date: August 2026
Contract: Freelance / Contract Opportunity

Morgan Sindall is currently seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a major infrastructure project in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-assurance environment on a complex civil engineering scheme, taking responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of key work packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of civil engineering works from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor programme performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
• Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.
• Support commercial teams with change management, cost control, and reporting.
• Mentor and support engineers and junior members of the project team.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project management teams.

Essential Experience

Candidates should have proven experience delivering civil engineering projects, including:

• Drainage
• Utility diversions
• Piling
• Reinforced concrete (RC) foundations
• Structural steel frame construction

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Sub Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor is highly desirable.
• Rail, aviation, or other high-assurance project experience preferred.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple work fronts.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts.
• Valid CSCS card and relevant site management qualifications.
