Academics are currently seeking a Student Support Worker in Aylesbury to join a specialist educational setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with their learning, behaviour, confidence and personal development within a structured and supportive environment.

As a Student Support Worker, you will play an important role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage positively with their education.

You will build strong and trusting relationships with pupils, providing consistent day-to-day support and guidance. You will also work closely with teachers and other staff to help manage behavioural, emotional and social needs.

The role will involve using calm, patient and consistent approaches when responding to challenging behaviour, while encouraging pupils to develop positive behaviours, confidence and independence.

• Has previous experience supporting children or young people
• Is patient, calm and resilient
• Feels confident responding to and managing challenging behaviour
• Can build positive and professional relationships with pupils
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understands the importance of maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
• Has experience within SEN, education, care, youth work or residential settings

• Work within a specialist educational setting
• Gain further experience supporting pupils with complex needs
• Develop your knowledge and experience of SEN and behaviour support
• Work alongside a supportive and experienced staff team
• Receive ongoing support from an experienced Academics consultant
