Student Support Assistant - North London

Job Title: Student Support Assistant (Temporary) Location: North London About the Role / Job Summary: Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to access education, build independence, and achieve their potential? This rewarding role combines in-class learning support with personal care, working with students with a range of physical, cognitive, and additional needs in a mainstream further education setting. You will collaborate closely with the Study Support Lead, vocational tutors, and Student Services staff to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student can participate fully in college life. Key Responsibilities: Support students with additional needs in the classroom, assisting with learning resources and specialist equipment. - Provide personal care support, including the use of hoists and other specialist equipment. - Draw up agreed support plans with SMART targets, monitor progress, and intervene as necessary. - Manage a caseload of students, liaising with teaching staff and external partners. - Manage behaviours and emotional regulation, applying appropriate strategies with patience. - Maintain accurate records and produce reports to meet inspection requirements. - Participate in meetings, training, and college-wide activities.
