Recruitment & Progression Officer - Help Young People Across Peterlee Build Brighter Futures

Are you passionate about supporting young people into education, apprenticeships and employment? Do you enjoy building relationships with schools, employers and local organisations while making a genuine difference in your community?

We''re recruiting a Recruitment & Progression Officer to join a dedicated education provider in Peterlee. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners from their first enquiry through to securing qualifications, work placements and positive progression into further education or employment.

You''ll be at the heart of learner recruitment and employer engagement, working with schools, Local Authorities, referral partners and local businesses to create opportunities that help young people achieve their potential.

No two days are the same. One day you could be meeting with schools to promote programmes, the next supporting a learner during a work placement or developing partnerships with local employers to create valuable opportunities.

What You''ll Be Doing

  • Recruit and enrol learners onto vocational programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, colleges, Local Authorities, NEET teams and community referral partners.
  • Support learners throughout their programme through regular reviews and progression planning.
  • Develop relationships with employers across Peterlee and the surrounding area to secure work experience and industry placements.
  • Visit learners during placements, offering guidance and support to both learners and employers.
  • Work collaboratively with tutors, parents, carers and external agencies to ensure learners achieve successful outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and contribute towards programme targets and learner success.

About You

You''ll be an enthusiastic relationship builder who genuinely enjoys helping young people succeed. Whether your background is in education, employability, careers advice or youth support, you''ll understand the importance of encouragement, communication and creating opportunities.

You''ll have:

  • A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Experience within education, employability, youth support or vocational training.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The confidence to build lasting partnerships with employers and community organisations.
  • A proactive approach and genuine passion for supporting learners into positive destinations.
