Student Experience and Safeguarding Officer

Based at Taunton College, the Student Experience and Safeguarding Officer plays a pivotal role in coordinating wellbeing and safeguarding support for students across the College. Working closely with the Safeguarding Team Leader, the Student Experience and Safeguarding Officer is responsible for triaging referrals, ensuring timely and appropriate support is provided, and maintaining a calm and effective approach under pressure. This role is central to supporting students - particularly those from vulnerable groups - by addressing a wide range of issues that may affect their learning and overall college experience. The Student Experience and Safeguarding Officer provides one-to-one and group guidance and mentoring, signposting students to internal services or external agencies, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment across the college group.
