Structural Steel Detailer - SolidWorks/Tekla Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa -40,000 DOE
Location - Office Based in Tonbridge

Due to continued growth, they''re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in structural steel design and proficiency in SolidWorks or Tekla. This is a hands-on, office-based role where you''ll play a key part in designing and detailing steel structures for fabrication and installation.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or Tekla
• Design structural steel components, including weldments, sheet metal, and fabricated assemblies
• Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Develop design specifications, BOMs, and support continuous improvement of design processes
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering discussions

Experiences required

• Minimum 2 years'' experience in structural steel design
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Tekla Structures is advantageous
• Strong understanding of fabrication, weldments, and sheet metal design
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
• Experience in load-bearing structural design
• Ability to work independently and within a small, collaborative team
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
