We are currently partnered with one of the leading structural engineering practices in London as they look to add a Structural Engineer to their division around Forest Gate.

Ideally the candidate would have a minimum of three years'' UK experience within residential and commercial buildings projects.



Role Summary

As a Structural Revit Technician, you''ll play a vital role in the design and delivery of structural engineering projects using Revit and BIM tools. You''ll collaborate closely with structural engineers, technologists, and project teams, helping to translate engineering designs into precise and coordinated 3D models and technical documentation.







Key Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain Revit-based structural models and drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

  • Coordinate with engineers and project teams to maintain BIM integrity, supporting clash detection and quality control.

  • Support the production of technical documentation, including schedules, material take-offs, and drawing sets.

  • Assist with Revit/BIM setup: templates, families, view configurations, and workflows aligned with project needs.

  • Work across project stages: residential conversions, multi-storey steel and concrete frame design, foundation and retaining wall design, and specialized sectors like nuclear

  • Contribute to standardisation of Revit workflows (templates, naming conventions, etc.) for enhanced efficiency and consistency.

  • Liaise with multi-office teams (Chorley, Shrewsbury, Lancaster, Liverpool, London) to ensure seamless collaboration and adhere to company procedures







Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit within a structural engineering or BIM environment.

  • Understanding of BIM Level 2 processes and industry best practices.

  • Familiarity with structural materials and typologies-steel, concrete, masonry, timber-and relevant project workflows Thomas Consulting.

  • Strong attention to detail, coordination skills, and ability to work in a team across multiple offices.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, clash detection tools, or structural analysis software.

  • Experience using Revit families and managing templates.

  • Exposure to UK standards (Eurocode) or sectors like nuclear & defence

  • Interest in advancing toward Chartered status, project leadership, or BIM management in the future.
