About the Role

A Structural Engineer is required in Hemel Hempstead for a permanent position with a consulting firm. The salary offered is between £36,000 and £46,000 per annum, alongside a pension and healthcare cash plan. This role involves working primarily on high-volume residential schemes, with additional projects in healthcare, commercial, and industrial sectors, covering both new builds and refurbishments. Responsibilities include structural design and analysis, preparing calculations, reports, and sketches, and reviewing drawings. You will coordinate with clients, architects, and the wider professional team, managing your own workload to meet agreed deadlines. This full-time position suits an engineer capable of planning tasks independently.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to join our client based in HERTFORDSHIRE.

You will work on high volume residential projects along with projects in other sectors to include healthare, commercial and industrial encompassing both new build and refurbishment.

Duties will include structural design and analysis of buildings and structural elements.

You will prepare calculations, reports and also sketches.

You will review and check drawings.

You will coordinate with clients, architects and the rest of the professional team.

You should be able to look after, plan and monitor your own workload working to agreed timescales.

THE CLIENT

Our client is a successful, growing firm of consulting engineers who are working on various projects in the built environment.

They currently have three UK offices.

THE CANDIDATE

You must have a BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

You must have at least three years'' experience of working in a structural engineering consultancy.

You need to have good working knowledge of UK design standards and also the Eurocodes.

You should be working towards becoming Chartered with the ICE or IStructE.

You must have excellent communication skills - both written and spoken.

A full UK driving licence is required.

Salary is negotiable from £36000 to £46000 per annum depending upon experience plus pension, healthcare cash back plan, some WFH although 3 days in the office is required, life assurance and a range of other benefits.
