Structural Engineer (Fit-out and Refurbishment)

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer (Fit-out and Refurbishment) on a contract basis. This role focuses on retail fit-out and refurbishment, especially high-end retail in historic buildings. The position is based in London and demands a flexible approach to working hours.

• Experience in retail fit-out and refurbishment, particularly high-end retail in historic buildings
• Reviewing contractor''s fit-out information, design, and assessment of existing structures
• Liaising with the Client and contractor, preparing fee proposals and project documentation
• Collaborating as part of a busy and friendly project team
• Conducting site visits from 8 am in Central London, with potential early finishes; must be prepared to come into Central London every day if required, including Fridays.

• Experience in civil engineering with a focus on building and rail sectors
• Proven experience in retail fit-out and refurbishment, especially in high-end retail within historic buildings
• Ability to review and assess contractor''s fit-out design and existing structures
• Effective communication skills for liaising with Clients and contractors
• Strong organisational skills for preparing fee proposals and project documentation
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential nights and weekends
• Ability to conduct regular site visits and coordinate with the project team on-site and in the office
