Our client is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join a growing structural engineering team in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-end residential projects, from new build developments to refurbishment and affordable housing schemes. It is a split of 80% residential and 20% commercial, with support to become chartered and a salary of up to -48,000 + benefits.

Overview

- Prepare structural and drainage designs with supporting calculations for new build and renovation projects

- Carry out structural inspections, report on defects, and recommend remedial works

- Conduct site visits and attend design team meetings to monitor progress and address technical queries

- Develop UK residential drainage designs in accordance with current standards and regulations

- Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver design solutions that meet project requirements

- Ensure compliance with building regulations and relevant standards across all design work

- Assist in the preparation of design reports, planning documents, and project specifications

- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members

Requirements

- A relevant degree (BSc or equivalent) within Civil or Structural Engineering

- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably in the residential sector

- A proven track record of producing structural designs and supporting calculations

- Experience of Tekla Tedds and AutoCAD

- A desire to work towards ICE or IStructE chartered status

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage projects and deliver client satisfaction

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
