Important Information

Please note: Although the role is contractually based in Falmer, the successful candidate will be required to work from Apsley for the first three months of employment before moving permanently to the Falmer office.

All new starters are required to complete drug and alcohol testing as part of the induction process, as well as a DBS check.

The Role

Are you an organised and proactive planner with experience in street works, utilities, scheduling or operational coordination?

We are looking for a Streetworks Planner to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating people, resources and workloads to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

As a Streetworks Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling operational works, ensuring contractual service levels are achieved while maximising workforce efficiency.

Working closely with operational teams, supervisors, clients and customers, you will play a key role in keeping works moving and resolving issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and schedule works in line with contractual requirements and service level agreements.

Allocate work to operational and field teams.

Monitor progress and manage outstanding workloads and backlogs.

Ensure all necessary permits, notices and street works requirements are obtained and maintained.

Provide accurate and timely information to field teams.

Respond to client requests and resolve planning and scheduling issues.

Liaise with supervisors, operational teams, clients and customers.

Keep planning and operational systems accurately updated.

Identify and resolve potential issues before they impact delivery.

Support the safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery of works.

About You

We''re looking for a highly organised individual who can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and excellent communication.

You''ll ideally have:

Previous experience in a planning, scheduling or coordination role.

Experience using Street Manager, Aurora or similar planning systems.

A good understanding of street works, traffic management and utility planning processes.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word.

A proactive and solution-focused approach.

The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Previous experience within the utilities sector would be advantageous.
