Streetworks Inspector

Our client is seeking a Streetworks Inspector for a contract role in London. The position will involve inspecting streetworks activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and supporting the effective management of works across the highway network.

• Carrying out inspections of streetworks across the highway network
• Monitoring works to ensure compliance with relevant streetworks legislation, permits and specifications
• Identifying defects, non-compliance and safety issues, taking appropriate follow-up action
• Recording inspection findings accurately and maintaining clear documentation
• Liaising with contractors, utility companies and internal highways teams
• Supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and well-managed highway works

• Previous experience working for a highway authority
• Practical experience carrying out streetworks inspections
• Strong understanding of streetworks processes, compliance requirements and highway safety
• Ability to assess works on site and identify defects or breaches of requirements
• Confident communication skills when dealing with contractors and utility companies
• Accurate record-keeping and report-writing abilities
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running in a busy highways environment
• NRSWA supervisor certificate
