The role involves inspecting utility and contractor works, ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), permit conditions, traffic management requirements and local authority standards. Key Responsibilities: Inspect road and pavement works undertaken by water, gas, electricity and telecommunications utilities, as well as highways contractors. Check compliance with NRSWA, the Traffic Management Act, permit conditions and approved traffic management proposals. Monitor site safety, including signage, barriers, pedestrian routes and traffic management measures. Assess reinstatements to ensure roads and footways have been properly repaired following excavations. Record defects and non-compliance, issuing inspection reports, notices and corrective action requirements where necessary. Investigate complaints relating to roadworks, traffic management and highway occupation. Liaise with utility companies, contractors, highways teams and members of the public.
