About the role…
As a Street Works Co-Ordinator, you will play a key role in managing street works permits and notices across Water England projects within the Trenchless division.
You will work closely with Project Managers, operational teams, subcontractors and Local Authorities to programme daily works effectively, ensuring compliance with all legislation and permit requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and submitting all Street Works notices and permits using relevant systems
- Monitoring permit statuses, change requests and updates
- Assessing permit applications to ensure compliance with legislation and permit scheme conditions
- Communicating permit status and updates to field teams
- Recording timely starts, stops and activities to avoid financial penalties
- Liaising with Local Authorities for road closures, traffic management and supporting requirements
- Checking systems such as One.Network for clashes and planning conflicts
- Requesting and managing CAD drawings when required
- Ensuring Traffic Management plans are in place and compliant
- Monitoring additional costs relating to changes in works or traffic management
- Escalating issues to the Street Works Manager or Team Leader where required
- Supporting safe working practices in line with company health and safety policies
About you…
To be successful in this role, you will have strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Experience within the water or utilities industry preferred
- Knowledge of street works permitting and noticing systems
- Understanding of NRSWA legislation is advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong administrative and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- A flexible, can-do approach with a determination to deliver results
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients, Local Authorities and operational teams
- GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English
- Full UK driving licence
