Strategic Operations Director

Are you a commercially driven leader with deep experience in the public sector? Do you excel in client relationship building, operational transformation, and delivering outstanding results? As the Strategic Operations Director, you will be at the forefront of leading transformation within our Transportation division, which covers both Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) and TfL Taxi Licensing contracts. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will sit on both the Transportation Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the division''s strategic vision and operational performance.
This senior leadership role is ideal for someone with a proven track record of driving operational excellence, leading large-scale contracts, and developing strong client relationships, particularly in the Local and Central Government sectors. You will use data-driven insights and a client-centric approach to lead transformation efforts and ensure measurable improvements in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage the CPE and TfL contracts, ensuring the achievement of sales, strategic vision, and financial and non-financial objectives.
·Full P&L responsibility for your region, ensuring financial performance is optimised through cost management, resource allocation, and business development.
·Work closely with strategic account directors and the new business team to drive growth and deliver integrated solutions across multiple service lines.
·Foster a high-performing team by encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
·Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior executive-level clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth.
·Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and professional functions to promote the division and build external relationships.
·Support the Managing Director in implementing the overall growth strategy and positioning the company as an industry leader in transportation services.
What We''re Looking For:
·Senior leadership experience in a regional, multi-site operational environment, ideally within the public sector.
·Proven ability to lead large-scale contracts, with P&L responsibility, and drive business growth.
·In-depth knowledge of the local, regional, and central government services landscape.
·Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at a senior level and deliver compelling presentations.
·Expertise in data-driven decision-making, operational transformation, and service innovation.
·A collaborative and results-driven approach, with the ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
·Background in transportation, enforcement, technology services, or regulated environments.
·Experience managing client contracts in local and central government, particularly in civil parking enforcement or transport services.
·Strong understanding of industry legislation, including the TMA 2004.
