Overview

We are looking for an experienced Stores Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the manufacturing stores, with a strong focus on stock control, inventory accuracy and the efficient movement of materials through the business.

You will oversee a small team within the stores operation, ensuring stock is accurately received, stored, picked and dispatched while supporting the wider production and quality teams.

The role will suit someone with previous stores, inventory or warehouse management experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment, who is comfortable taking ownership of stock and leading a small team.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management and control of stock across the stores operation.
• Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through effective stock control, transaction recording and regular cycle counting.
• Oversee goods-in and goods-out, ensuring materials and products are checked, recorded and stored correctly.
• Work closely with the Quality team, supporting the identification and handling of any damaged or non-conforming stock.
• Ensure materials are picked and prepared accurately to support the production operation and prevent manufacturing delays.
• Manage and supervise a small team within the stores department, providing day-to-day direction, support and training.
• Monitor stock levels and use the company''s ERP/MRP system to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Identify and report discrepancies, damaged stock and any issues affecting stock availability.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised stores environment, using 5S principles where appropriate.
• Ensure forklifts and warehouse equipment are used safely and maintained in line with company requirements.
• Look for opportunities to improve stock control, warehouse layout and stores processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Stores, Inventory or Warehouse Management position.
• Ideally 3-5 years'' experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of stock control, goods-in/goods-out and inventory management.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team.
• Confident using an ERP/MRP system and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly around stock accuracy and documentation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production, purchasing and quality teams.
• FLT experience/licence would be advantageous.
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of the stores function.

Salary & Benefits

• -35,00038,000 with consideration for higher salary depending on experience.
• Quarterly Bonus Scheme.
• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am-4:00pm. Friday: 8:00am-3:00pm.
• 28 days'' holiday including Bank Holidays.
