My client is a leading engineering company committed to delivering high-quality products and services across a variety of sectors. Due to continued growth, my client-is looking for a reliable and organised Stores Controller to manage inventory, goods in/out, and ensure the smooth running of our stores department.
Role Overview:
As a Stores Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the stores area, ensuring accurate stock control, timely deliveries, and maintaining a safe and organised environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries
- Organise and maintain accurate inventory records
- Issue materials to production teams as required
- Ensure all goods are correctly stored and labelled
- Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts
- Coordinate dispatch and logistics for outgoing goods
- Work closely with purchasing, production, and quality teams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Operate forklifts or pallet trucks (if licensed)
- Update inventory systems and handle basic documentation
Requirements:
Previous experience in a stores or warehouse role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment but not essential
Good understanding of stock control and inventory systems
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Forklift licence is desirable but not essential
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling

The salary for this position is -25,000 - -28,000, for a candidate who meets the key qualifications and skills
