Storeperson (Warehouse and Stores)

We are looking for an experienced Storeperson to take charge of a busy stores and warehouse area in Hortonwood, Telford. This is a hands on role for someone who takes pride in a tidy, well run store rather than someone who just wants seat time on a forklift.

The main job is keeping the warehouse in good order. That means stock in the right place, everything labelled and rotated properly, walkways clear, and the area presentable at all times. You will also be moving chemicals, liquids and metals around the site, so safe handling and a careful approach matter more here than speed.

There is some forklift work, but it is a small part of the day rather than the whole of it. You need a current accredited licence and ideally experience carrying liquids or chemicals on the forks, because that is a different job to moving pallets of boxes.

It is a physical role. You will be on your feet all day, lifting and shifting, and moving between the stores and the shop floor.

What you will be doing

• Booking goods in and out and keeping paperwork accurate
• Organising and maintaining the stores and warehouse area
• Safe storage and movement of chemicals, liquids and metals
• Forklift work as and when it is needed
• Stock checks and keeping the housekeeping standard high
• Supporting production with materials when they need them

What we are looking for

• An in date accredited forklift licence (counterbalance)
• Previous stores or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Someone organised who genuinely cares about how the place looks and runs
• Comfortable with the physical side of the job
• Reliable, on time, and able to work on your own initiative

The offer

• Monday to Friday, days only, with an early finish on a Friday
• No nights, no weekends
• Temp to perm
