The Stock Controller / Admin Support role is responsible for driving operational efficiency by ensuring absolute integrity and accuracy of customer and supplier stock data. This post holder will enforce strict compliance across all operational and safety processes while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with internal warehouse teams, external suppliers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Stock Control & System Management
- WMS Maintenance: Daily management and maintenance of the Warehouse Management System, ensuring system control and that all adjustments are fully understood, audited, and reported.
- Inventory Management: Plan, execute, and oversee regular stock takes, scheduled counts, and Perpetual Inventory checks.
- Pallet & Flow Management: Track and maintain accurate pallet controls to ensure an efficient flow of stock throughout the site.
- Issue Investigation: Conduct root-cause analysis on stock discrepancies, manage quality checks and handle wastage reporting.
- Reporting: Prepare, compile, and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational and inventory reports.
- Enquiry Resolution: Serve as a key point of contact for resolving customer, client, and supplier stock inquiries quickly and efficiently.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain and build professional relationships with suppliers and cross-functional site departments.
- Compliance Standards: Adhere strictly to company health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Quality Frameworks: Apply active awareness of HACCP and BRC compliance standards across all daily operational practices.
Key Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and stock control processes.
- Strong numerical capability and a high level of analytical precision.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional accuracy and thoroughness in data entry and record-keeping.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Logical approach to identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Teamwork & Initiative: Able to work collaboratively within a diverse team as well as independently using sound judgment.
- Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility: Willingness and adaptability to cover alternative shift patterns for administrative cover (holidays/sickness) when required.
