About the Role
Pertemps Dudley Industrial seeks a Steel Stores Person for a full-time, temporary post in Dudley. Paying £13 per hour across 38 weekly hours, the working pattern runs Monday to Thursday, 8am until 4.15pm, and Friday, 8am until 3.30pm. Duties cover receiving, checking and storing steel plus other materials, loading and unloading safely, and moving stock with a forklift and overhead crane. The successful candidate prepares items for production, keeps the stores and yard tidy, and completes basic stock records. Previous warehouse or industrial stores experience, forklift certification and crane competence are advantageous. This hands-on position suits someone reliable and safety-conscious.

We are currently recruiting for a Steel Stores Person to join an established manufacturing business based in the Dudley area.
This is a hands-on stores role within a busy industrial environment, working with steel and other materials to support day-to-day production operations.
The Role:
As a Steel Stores Person, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, checking and storing steel and other materials
- Loading and unloading materials safely
- Moving steel around the site using a forklift and overhead crane
- Preparing materials for production
- Keeping the stores and yard organised and tidy
- Completing basic stock and stores records
- Using a computer for basic stock and administrative tasks
- Following company health and safety procedures
- Supporting the wider production team when required
We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and comfortable working in a busy industrial environment.
Essential requirements:
- Valid forklift licence
- Valid overhead crane licence
- Previous experience working in a steel, manufacturing, engineering or industrial stores environment
- Basic computer skills
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
- Physically capable of working in a hands-on environment
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:15pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
- 38 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £13ph
