Steel fixer

Kilnbridge is hiring Steel Fixers-to join our team working on a long-term infrastructure project in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor delivering on a major UK project.

Working hours:7:30-18:00

10 Hours paid per day

Rate: -24 CIS-

Responsibilities

• Maintaining tools and equipment:

  They ensure that their tools and machinery are in good working order

• Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings:

  Steel fixers read and understand construction plans to determine the type and placement of steel reinforcement.-

• Cutting and bending steel:

  They use hand and power tools to cut and shape steel bars and mesh to the required dimensions.-

• Securing steel reinforcement:

  They tie or weld the steel together, ensuring it is properly positioned and secured within concrete forms.-

• Working with other construction professionals:

  Steel fixers collaborate with engineers, steel erectors, and other tradespeople to ensure the project is completed efficiently and accurately.-

Requirements for the steel fixer role-

• Blue Skilled worker card-
• Ideally the candidate will have a UK Driving License
• IPAF is desirable but not mandatory
