1. Safety Leadership & Compliance (Primary Duty)
-
Enforce the-Construction Phase Plan-and site-specific-Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).

Conduct daily-toolbox talks-and ensure all team members understand the task-specific risks.

Ensure 100% compliance with-CDM 2015-regulations, acting as the principal point of contact for site safety.
-
Supervise and enforce-Working at Height Regulations 2005-(harness use, scaffolding, MEWPs).
-
Manage lifting operations in accordance with-LOLER 1998-and-BS 7121 (Safe Use of Cranes).
-
Halt any unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
2. Team Management & Supervision

Supervise a team of steel erectors, riggers, and slinger/signallers.

Allocate daily tasks, manage labour resources, and monitor productivity.

Mentor junior staff and apprentices, promoting a culture of safety and quality.

Manage site logistics and coordinate deliveries of steel and materials.
3. Quality & Technical Control
-
Oversee the erection of steel columns, beams, and trusses to precise engineering tolerances (typically -3-5mm).

Interpret and implement-engineering drawings-(GA, detail, and connection drawings).

Ensure all bolted connections are torqued correctly and welded work (if applicable) meets-BS EN ISO 3834-standards.

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with-BS EN 1090-(Execution Class EXC2-EXC4).
