Job Summary:

We are seeking RGNs for a permanent position for our well established clients based in Hitchin.

The successful candidate will join a well-established and highly regarded residential, nursing, and dementia care provider on a permanent basis, becoming part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional, person-centred care.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead clinical shifts or support the Lead Nurse/Clinical Lead as the second nurse on duty.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalised care plans.
  • Promote residents'' independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to care staff.
  • Ensure care is delivered in line with NMC standards and current healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medication records.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to changes in residents'' conditions.
  • Support and mentor Care Assistants through training and coaching.
  • Act as a Named Nurse for a designated group of residents.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safe staffing levels and contribute to effective shift planning.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
  • Promote a positive, open, and supportive team culture.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and report any concerns promptly.
  • Deliver thorough and effective handovers between shifts.
Requirements
  • Valid NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Previous nursing experience within a care home, nursing home, or similar healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • A commitment to delivering person-centred care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory and specialist training.
