We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL professional with a strong background in performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery (HADR), replication, monitoring, and troubleshooting. If you’re ready to make a significant impact in a challenging setting, apply now.In This Role, You’ll Get toAct as the PostgreSQL technical leader, providing strategic recommendations for database solutions to ensure scalability, integrity, and security of the database infrastructureAdminister and proactively monitor PostgreSQL servers to ensure 24×7 uptime and availability across multiple data centersTroubleshoot and perform performance tuning on PostgreSQL to ensure optimal operation and efficiencyCommunicate and review database solutions, technical issues, and the application requirements with operations staff and external entitiesWhat you’ll Need to SucceedBachelor or Master Degree in computer science or related fieldsAt least 8 years of experience with PostgreSQL, with a focus on OLTP environmentsProficient in database high availability, replication technology, and performance tuningProficient in database design, ER Diagram and SQLExperience deploying and managing PostgreSQL clusters, including setup, configuration, and maintenance for high availability and scalabilityAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new environmentsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong teamwork and communication skillsWillingness to participate in on-call rotationNice to HaveExperience in Python and Bash scriptingExperience with Docker and familiarity with KubernetesUnderstanding of hardware components related to database administration (server architecture, storage, networking, performance)Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus)Experience with CI/CD toolsFamiliarity with SQL databases (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL)Experience with tools such as Ansible, Consul, Vault, Sensu, GitLabEqual Opportunity EmployerAt Agoda, we pride ourselves on being a company represented by people of diverse backgrounds.
