The Design for Scale Reliability Engineer will support Amazon''s Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging Engineering teams in developing and testing Robotics/Mechatronics systems, Packaging Automation, and Sortation systems. This role involves innovating, analyzing, planning, organizing, implementing, and managing process and reliability improvement projects to ensure safe, economical, and effective use of materials, energy, and personnel.We are seeking a hardware reliability engineer for product development within our team. This role covers the entire reliability lifecycle of products, from concept development through hardware reliability testing to confidence confirmation and improvement. You will collaborate with multiple teams to manage product growth, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with clear focus on reliability goals from the outset.Basic Qualifications
Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test proceduresExperience in Design for Reliability (DfR) for new product developmentBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ or TUV); Python for Data Science is a plusExperience as a Reliability Engineer or similar roleAbility to develop engineering, design, and verification test objectives based on reliability risks and failure modesProficiency in reliability engineering principles, methods, and tools (e.g., Reliability prediction, FMEA, DOE, Weibull analysis)Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on product reliabilityPreferred Qualifications
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams from concept to productionMaster’s degree in Engineering or related field; Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ or TUV)Knowledge of product development and manufacturing processesStrong communication and collaboration skillsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilitiesFamiliarity with industry standards and regulationsKnowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949)Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP, Weibull++)Experience with DVPandR developmentKnowledge of Python coding for Weibull analysis and reliability analyticsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity.
