SQL Server DBA

SQL Server DBA needed for our Financial Services client in Edinburgh. The right candidate must have extensive demonstrable experience as a SQL Server DBA within corporate, enterprise environments, including strong T-SQL skills and the ability to administer, maintain and support complex Microsoft SQL Server (2016 - 2022) environments, optimising database performance, capacity and availability.The role is Inside IR35 and candidate will need to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. The role also requires candidates to work 3-days per week in the centre of Edinburgh.The role will focus on ensuring the performance, availability, security, and integrity of mission-critical SQL Server environments, while supporting ongoing operations, improvements, and project work. This role will be well suited to a hands-on DBA who can operate independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and work closely with development, infrastructure, and cloud teams.Key Skills:Significant hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environmentsStrong expertise in SQL Server administration (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)Proven experience with performance tuning (indexes, execution plans, waits, IO, memory)Solid knowledge of HA/DR technologies (Always On AGs essential)Strong T-SQL skills for diagnostics, automation, and troubleshootingExperience with backup and recovery strategies in large environmentsUnderstanding of Windows Server and storage conceptsAbility to work ..... full job details .....
