Pay: £90–£120 per day, depending on experience
Cover People are seeking Sports Coaches to work across schools in South Manchester, supporting pupils through PE lessons, sporting activities and wider school-based enrichment.
These roles are particularly suited to candidates looking for flexible day-to-day or short-term work, with the possibility of longer-term placements as schools'' needs develop. Whether you''re an experienced coach or a sports graduate looking to gain experience in education, we''d be keen to hear from you.
The OpportunityWorking across different schools, you''ll help pupils stay active, develop new skills and build confidence through sport.
Depending on the placement, duties may include:
Assisting with PE lessons and delivering practical sports activities
Leading warm-ups, coaching drills and structured games
Supporting individual pupils and small groups
Encouraging participation, teamwork and good sportsmanship
Helping pupils develop physical skills and confidence
Supporting lunchtime sports clubs and extracurricular activities
Adapting activities to suit different ages and abilities
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
Working alongside teachers and other school staff
Ensuring activities are delivered safely and inclusively
We''re interested in candidates with a passion for sport and the confidence to work with children and young people.
Your background might include:
Sports coaching or PE
Football, rugby, cricket, basketball or athletics
Fitness instruction or personal training
Sports Science or a related degree
Youth work or community sports programmes
A relevant qualification, coaching badge or sports-related degree would be advantageous. Practical experience working with young people and the ability to manage groups effectively are also valued.
You''ll need to be enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable, with strong communication skills and a positive approach to behaviour management.
