About the Role
As a Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, person-centred assessment and intervention services. You will support individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families to develop communication skills, increase participation, and improve overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete communication and swallowing assessments where required
- Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes
- Support service users to achieve communication and participation goals
- Provide guidance, training, and support to families and staff teams
- Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
- Promote evidence-based practice and person-centred supports
Requirements
- Degree in Speech & Language Therapy
- CORU registration, or eligibility for registration with CORU
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to person-centred and evidence-based practice
- Dysphagia qualification may be required for some posts
