Speech and Language Therapy Assistant – Band 4Two Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistants are being recruited for the community SLT service in North Devon. One role is 30 hours per week (four days) and the other is 22.5 hours per week (three days).Employer: Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (CFHD). Location: Springfield Court, Fishleigh Road, Barnstaple, EX31 3UD. Contract: Permanent; Working pattern: Part-time.Salary: £27,485 to £30,162 per year pro rata.Responsibilities

Assist in the provision of the Speech and Language Therapy Service to children with speech, language and communication needs across the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.Assist with the setting up and running of parent groups and children’s groups, conduct individual assessments and interventions, and provide advice and target setting within settings/home.Develop resources and care packages; work under supervision within the service framework; maintain professional boundaries; participate in supervision and appraisal processes.Person specification / Qualifications

Essential:Level 3 QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualificationMust hold or obtain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employmentGCSE in Maths and English (Grade C or above) or Level 2 Key Skills/Functional Skills in Maths and EnglishFoundation Degree in Health and Social Care or qualification to diploma level or equivalentDesirable:Evidence of additional relevant health training (e.g., courses relating to speech, language and communication needs)Experience of delivering SLT programmes of advice to childrenExperience/knowledge of working with children with SLCNAdditional information
