This SAS (Specialty and Associate Specialist) doctor role is critical to the daily operations of the haematology department, offering a fantastic balance of inpatient ward care, outpatient clinic management, and laboratory reporting. It provides an excellent pathway for professional development, including potential support for the CESR route for dedicated physicians. Core Clinical Responsibilities: Conduct routine and urgent haematology outpatient clinics, managing both malignant and non-malignant blood disorders under Consultant guidance. Perform essential diagnostic procedures, including bone marrow biopsies and aspirates. Prescribe and monitor complex chemotherapy regimens for haemato-oncology patients. Provide robust middle-grade support to the haematology ward, ensuring excellent patient care and smooth clinical handovers. Essential Candidate Requirements: Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a valid licence to practise. Significant post-graduate clinical experience in Haematology at the middle-grade or Specialty Doctor level.
