Specials Needs Teaching Assistant

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with identified SEN

• Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and support strategies

• Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

• Support the class teacher with differentiation and behaviour management

• Track and report on student progress to the SENCo and teaching staff

• Promote the social and emotional well-being of pupils

• Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals when needed

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips and enrichment activities

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (required or highly desirable)

• Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practices

• A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or similar) is an advantage

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting every child

• DBS check required (or willingness to undergo one)
