Location: Studley or Stoke-on-Trent
Days working: Mon - Fri (40 hours per week)
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 Per annum

Role Overview As a Specialist Transport Route Surveyor, you will play a critical role in delivering multimodal transport & logistics solutions both internally and to our clients. Working closely with the Routing Consultancy Team you will assist in the provision of an engineered and checked transport solution as per the specifications and restrictions.
You will be involved in the production of feasibility studies that are issued on time and achieve the desired client specification and deliverables. Customer expectations are to be exceeded wherever and whenever possible.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct and record the findings of physical route assessments as designated in the specification including conducting associated site visits such as ports or final delivery location of the cargo.
- Responsibility for providing accurate data and survey results which will form the basis of findings in the production of route feasibility studies and route reports
- Document findings and categorise notes, photos and measurements in a structured manner
- Ensuring route feasibility studies and route reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner, as per the agreed work package.
- Putting Health, Safety and Environment at the forefront of the team''s day to day proceedings; comply with health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Be able to interpret Transportation Drawings for cargo deliveries and understand their individual maneuverability characteristics.
- Assist in the identification of feasible routes while taking into consideration the NH Water Preferred Policy. Conducting on site investigations to capture transport limitations, restrictions and risks
- Be able to identify and distinguish ''pinch points'' on the route where the development of Swept Path Analysis will be required to determine any remedial measures required.
- Understand the application of wider technical solutions offered by the business in order to overcome challenges identified during the physical inspection.
- Liaising with consultants regarding structural checks and limitations as/when required
- To ensure that all project HSQE documentation is completed on-time and of sufficient quality to project requirements
- Liaise with [The] Routing Consultant to ensure that all routing surveys and permitting requirements are completed on-time and are of sufficient quality with further actions documented accordingly.
- Support, carry out and compile technical transport route surveys and feasibility studies
- Attend site and or client based meetings as required
- Attend meetings at company offices as requested (Studley/Stoke)
- To deal with any queries or problems in a timely manner in order to provide customer satisfaction
- To conduct the role within as directed by the Company and within the guidelines outlined within the Group Rules and Policies
- To provide any duty within the Company that is a reasonable request with the performance, skill and ability level of the job.
Requirements
- Engineering qualification (or equivalent knowledge, demonstratable through experience).
- Previous experience in the Heavy Lift and Transport industry (desirable)
- Experience of land surveying/topographic assessments (desirable)
- Full driving licence, Cat B1
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent IT skills- Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (or equivalent)
- Excellent organisation skills; both personal and professional
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Monday - Friday
- 40 hours per week
