Pay: -100 - -120 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Contract: Full-time, long term to permanent

About the Role

Long Term Futures is recruiting a Specialist Teaching Learning Assistant (STLA) for an independent specialist school located close to Newark. The school supports children and young people aged 5 to 19 with autism and associated needs. With small class sizes and high staffing levels, the school provides a structured day that supports both learning and personal development. The curriculum is highly personalised and includes a strong focus on communication, emotional wellbeing, practical life skills and therapeutic support.

What You''ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups throughout the school day
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive routines
  • Encouraging engagement in learning activities and supporting progress
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Recording progress, wellbeing and key observations in line with school systems
  • Supporting with personal care where required

What We''re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism, SEMH, or within specialist education settings.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, although strong Level 2 candidates will be considered.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient, with strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships and work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is desirable due to the school''s location on the outskirts of Newark. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, is essential.
