The Specialist Support Officer provides care and support to customers to enable informed decisions and improved quality of life. You will work from one of our supported services, offering support in a variety of ways. This is a hybrid role that includes leading on upskilling the team in your specialist area.Responsibilities
Undertake group and one-to-one interventions with clients of a specialist nature (e.g., CBT-informed interventions, psychoeducational groups, harm minimisation interventions).Provide a comprehensive support planning service in line with department policies and approaches.Utilise IT tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email) for appropriate tasks.Participate in cross-service initiatives and projects related to the specialist area (e.g., organisational training, reflective case management, peer support groups).Carry out assessments to identify and prioritise needs.Use SMART goal planning to provide needs-led holistic support.About You / Essential Qualifications
Relevant professional qualification eligible for registration with a professional body (e.g., HCPC, UKCP, BACP).Knowledge of specialist assessment tools, methods, and case formulation.Knowledge of evidence-based specialist interventions for mental health and community settings.Experience undertaking customer assessments, support planning and key-working with clear outcomes.Knowledge of recovery models, peer support and coproduction procedures.Experience working in community settings therapeutically, including assessments, designing interventions and demonstrating outcomes.Experience running therapeutic groups.Ability to react to crisis calmly and effectively.Basic IT skills and literacy; strong time management and ability to prioritise workload.Effective written communication including letters, reports and file notes; team collaboration.Understanding of safeguarding procedures for children and adults.Desirable
Experience supervising medication and designing/providing training.Why Riverside
